Maintenance Fee
The MAS approach to customer support and our maintenance
fee is based on two overarching principles:
-
MAS software is not a static product. Instead, it is
more like a process that continually evolves as new technologies and
research findings become available. Our users reap the benefit of this process
by obtaining frequent upgrades that ensure that their design and analysis tools
remain at the forefront of engineering practices;
-
At MAS, we regard our clients as
partners. Feedback from clients is regarded as valuable information and is used
to continually improve our software to ensure that it saves time and adds value
to day-to-day pavement design and analysis activities. By being part of the
group of Rubicon users, our clients reap the benefit of collective experience,
and over time will see these benefits manifest in our (i.e. their!) software.
To remain part of the Rubicon User's Group, users pay an
annual
maintenance fee. The maintenance fee is used towards the following activities and
services:
-
Fast, personalized electronic mail support is provided for
all software usage issues;
-
Free upgrades for modules included in the maintenance fee;
-
Discount on additional purchases;
-
Re-licensing for installation migration, etc.
Because we are certain that the maintenance fee is a
worthwhile investment that most of our users make use of, the maintenance fee
is optional. Thus if a user does not pay the maintenance fee, the software
will continue working as normal. It will not expire or self-destruct!
However, user-support and free upgrades will no longer be available, and new
releases will have to be bought at the full list price.
The maintenance cost is calculated as
follows:
-
1 module to 1 full package:
The minimum of 15% of the purchase price or R 5 000 ($ 750, € 631)
-
2 full or partial packages:
The minimum of 15% of the purchase price or R 9 000 ($ 1 350, € 1 136).
-
3 or more full packages:
The minimum of 15% of the purchase price or R 12 000 ($ 1 800, € 1 515).
If your have any questions related to the Maintenance Fee,
please feel free to contact MAS.
