The Rubicon Toolbox Photo Logger allows engineers to effectively document and store photographs taken during pavement rehabilitation design investigations. Photographs and video clips can be imported into the Photo Logger. During the import process, users are prompted for a station position (e.g. kilometre position) and a photo description. This information, together with the photo or video clip, is then stored in the Rubicon Toolbox project file. This file can be sent to, or shared with, other Toolbox users who can then view and print the photo log. All or selected photos in the photo log can be printed in a neat layout which shows two photos per page. Beneath each photo is shown the station position and description. A post-fix to the station position (e.g. "Facing North", or "Eastbound Lanes") can also be specified with the station position. In this manner, more than one photo can be imported for the same station position. A unique feature of the Photo Logger is that the photo log can be linked to a Rubicon Toolbox Data Viewer Layout. In this manner, the photographic record of pavement condition or features can be brought into context with other pavement condition data such as deflections, rutting, roughness and visual assessments. This is how it is done: users first design a Data Viewer Layout by means of the Rubicon Toolbox Data Viewer tool. A "Photo Strip" is then added to the layout and is linked to any Photo Log which is stored in the same project file. Photos and videos can then be viewed from the Data Viewer, side by side with other project data.
